OUR PASTOR

 

Tauro Jenkins has been boldly preaching the Gospel since the age of 12.  While most young men his age were living for the world, he made a sincere commitment to live whole heartedly for the Lord.  Given a “Pastor’s Heart” by God, he does not lord over the flock, but seeks to lead the people of God with compassion, conviction, and by example.

 

Knowing the importance of his calling, and the impact of his conduct on the lives of others, he strives daily to please the Lord by living an uncompromising, nonconforming, godly, holy life, and showing the Church, and the world what God deems right.

 

His assignment is “To Set Things In Order,” to bring correction to the Body of Christ so that Christ can be presented with a Bride that is without spot, wrinkle, or blemish.  Pastor Jenkins has served as a Pastor for 17 years, and a co-pastor for 4 years, and is the husband of Tara Jenkins, and the proud father of 6 children, Taylor, Charitee, Tajah, Daniel, Tauro Jr., and Tauron.

OUR CHURCH

In January of 2020, Brother Jim and Sister Tammy Smith graciously opened their home so that a group of believers could come together, and find out from God the next steps in their journey with Him.  It was during this time, and with much prayer that The Altar Christian Church was formed, and now we exist solely to know God and make Him known to others.  

​

We believe the purpose of the church is not to impose a series of “rules and regulations” to the body of Christ, but to introduce you to a life changing relationship with the risen Savior, Jesus Christ, and create a generation of disciples, who love God, and hate the world so much that they are willing to take God at His Word, and sacrifice anything to please him, while believing Him for miracles, signs and wonders!

 

Simply put, if God said it, it was then, is now, and will always be THE ONLY TRUTH.  We do not attempt to make the Word “relevant,” (as if God’s Word was ever irrelevant,) fit in with the times, or interpret, and compromise the Word to fit us, we take the Word of God at face value, and strive to follow it completely without excuses, because our desire is to please God, change a generation, and bring Glory to Him in all that we do!!!
